Lamborghini Gallardo Downtown Los Angeles at Post LA Lakers Championship

What sheer stupidity broke out after the Los Angeles Lakers won the NBA championship after a close Game 7. If you were watching KTLA (I think, maybe KCAL) after the game you saw a helicopter view of this Lamborghini Gallardo getting destroyed. People threw safety cones at it, kicked it, put cones on it, and even jumped up and down on the back. They even boxed the car in forever not letting the driver leave the game area.

This was just one horrible example and the tactless Los Angeles Lakers fans. The Lamborghini probably suffered some of the most expensive damages due to it’s value but other cars got the worst of it. A taxi got burnt to the ground and other cars got windows busted along with other damage. If they do go for a three peat next year we put out a high advisory you leave anything you don’t want ruined at home. I recommend that you try the Metro to get to the game and back home or to your car. LAist has reported 38 arrests at this time. These events just show the real kind of crowds the NBA brings out. No wonder guys like Ron Artest are still in the sport.

Lamborghini Gallardo Running a Parachute

Here are some snapshots of Underground Racing in Charlotte, North Carolina. They build up Lamborghini’s with twin turbo kits and currently are working on a Ferrari F-430 kit. We had some time to walk around the shop and snapped these photos for your pleasure. They are currently working on building a twin turbo kit for a Lamborghini Murcielago LP670-4 SV. I was told that the car might be at SEMA in a booth if it can be finished in time! Big thanks to everyone at Mobil 1 for giving us the opportunity to preview the shop on our trip to Charlotte, North Carolina.

Lamborghini Murcielago LP670-4 SV (Orange - Rendering)

Someone sent us this amazing rendering of the Lamborghini Murcielago LP670-4 SV. The Lamborghini SuperVeloce’s V12 produces 661 hp at 8000 rpm and 490 lb·ft of torque at 6500 rpm. This was a result of improved valve timing and intake system modifications to the current Lamborghini V12 in the Murcielago LP640. The car also shaved weight of 220lbs. resulting in more additional performance to the LP670-4 SV. Only 350 made worldwide at a price tag of $450,000.

A quick little street race between a Lamborghini Gallardo TT and a red Ferrari Enzo. I love when they get caught up at the light the Ferrari Enzo driver says “what’s in there?” The Lamborghini owner replies “it’s stock,” and the Enzo owners completes the conversation with “get the fuck outta here.” The Heffner Gallardo really gets up and moves. I would love to see some performance numbers on this one but for now you’ll have to enjoy the video.

Targa Trophy Road Rally Announces 2010 Schedule

Los Angeles, Calif. – April 27, 2010 – Targa Trophy, North America’s premier automotive lifestyle rally event, has announced the official 2010 schedule of events. The three events of the season will be held in three separate regions including Southern California, Northern California, and Arizona.

For the fourth consecutive year, the Targa Trophy road rally will hold a series of events, and for the second consecutive year the event series will be a Triple Crown that bridges together three key markets. Various W Hotels will serve as the host of the event series beginning with the brand new W Hollywood to W San Diego on June 25 and 26. W San Francisco and W Silicon Valley will host the second event on August 27 and 28, with W Scottsdale, Arizona ending the series on October 22 and 23, 2010.

Each location will include an immersive and interactive experience for the participants and fans of the rally. Each event will include public/private receptions, driver awards ceremonies, expo showcase, and public pre- and after-parties all held on the W Hotel properties. Targa Trophy will integrate the entertainment industry through live film screenings of the automotive and racing niche genres including Hollywood productions, independent films and documentaries.

“We are tremendously pleased with the destinations and the schedule of events this year,” said Jason Overell, founder of Targa Trophy. “Targa Trophy will bring a never-before seen lifestyle experience to the participants and fans of not only car culture but those interested in music, fashion, art, design, and entertainment.”

The events will be highlighted by one hundred driver participants with a range of vehicles that include sportscars, supercars, and everything in between. A nightlife component will be held at each venue to begin and end the events with a celebration. Additional features will be added per event with more information to follow.

A snapshot sent to us from the Lamborghini Club of America run late last month. I bet you cannot imagine what this group of cars sounded like driving by.

Lamborghini Beverly Hills has this gorgeous car sitting around waiting for you to pluck it up. The car is brand spanking new with zero mileage but you must inquire the dealer for a price at (888) 291-5533).

I went down to see this car in person recently and let me tell you that it looks amazing. This isn’t just an everyday Gallardo which are seen quite commonly around the Beverly Hills area.

The car is limited to 250 units and the version is named after Lamborghini test driver Valentino Balboni which you can see above. The engine is rated at 550 PS (405 kW; 542 hp). The vehicle has a dry weight of 1,380 kg (3,000 lb). Unlike the contemporary line-up, this model is rear wheel drive (because the standard all-wheel drive system was removed).
The CORSA ESP setting allows greater drift angles over regular models. Other features include re-calibrated optional e-gear transmission, redeveloped 45% limited slip differential, full leather black upholstery with white colour strips, Polar white centre console, a stripe down the centre of the car, and a badge below the left side window bears the signature of Valentino Balboni and the production number of the car. The Lamborghini LP 550-2 Valentino Balboni can reach a top speed of 199 mph and reach 0–100 km/h in 3.9 seconds.

We tackled the third leg of the Targa Rally today which took everyone from Los Angeles to Santa Barbra. A great pack of cars and a timed/mile route lead to a great event. Sadly, our car broke down at the 50 mile mark of a 400 mile day trip like our Gumball 3000 trip earlier this year. We crammed our video guy in another car so he could Targa Scum it and produce us some great video. Our photographer stayed with me at Mt. Frazier as we waited 4 hours for Cadillac to come rescue us and get us in a loaner. It was of course an adventure so check out our trip inside.
