Tyler McQuarrie’s GoPro HD helmet cam driving the LPL Lotus Exige S in World Challenge at Mosport. This is a lap during ractice on Friday before the event. Tyler went almost 2 seconds faster than this lap to capture pole for the race on Sunday where he finished 2nd. Tyler McQuarrie also drifts a Falken Tire Nissan 350z in the Formula Drift series. Middle Path Productions produced and uploading this Vimeo video from the October 2008 Cars and Coffee event that took place in Minneapolis, Minnesota. I had no clue the car collections would be this nice up in the cold north but I would say a very nice turnout for the Minnesota crowd. Some very nice filming style and music to compliment the event and cars as well.

My photo of the week caught my eye while browsing some accounts on Flickr. This photo comes from CHester Ng and was taken with a Canon 5d. This tennis ball flavored Lotus Exige looks gorgeous in this photo and provides some great contrast to the bland tunnel.

Yes you have been told your whole life that Imperial Stormtroopers are fictional soldiers from Star Wars. Yes, Stormtroopers are the personal army of the fictional Emperor Palpatine. All these lies the masses have told you when it looks like this is a true stormtrooper in his Lotus Speeder! The Speeder was a motorcycle without wheels in the Star Wars series that Stormtroopers used to get around quickly but it seems since then they have made some modifications courtesy of Lotus. This is just an exceptional moment of time captured by this photographer and we have to commend him for the hours of laughs we will receive from this one.

With 150 roadsters delivered Tesla is going to produce a “sport” version of the Roadster. The 1,100 people on the waiting list will have an option tp upgrade to the sport version if they are interested. A hand-wound stator was added to increase winding density and eliminating resistance. This modification also increases peak torque in the Roadster. Some high performance Yokohama tires are being installed (Autoblog is assuming it will be the Advan A048s which come factory on the Elise/Exige). The sport is boasting a 0-60 time of 3.7 seconds putting the car .2 seconds quicker than the basic Tesla Roadster. To finish off this sport package they have brought some more Lotus influence with anti-roll bars and adjustable dampers.
